I was suffering from Achilles tendinopathy for over a year when working as a security guard which required me to spend a lot of time standing and walking. The pain was worse in my right Achilles Heel where I had injured my right ankle during a tackle when playing football a few years ago. Spending a lot of time on my feet had caused my old injury to flare up again. Over a period of a few months, I took time off work and had to quit my job when the stiffness and pain got so bad that I could not walk without limping.
