Prior to the COVID pandemic, I was commuting regularly on the train to London. So, in March 2020, I was shocked and felt helpless in the face of something I could not even see. I could not travel anymore or even go to my local gym, which was also shut.
Thank God that I could at least continue my IT job at home. As time went on, I felt very anxious about the pandemic and self-isolation. I am a single man who has few friends and who has not had a partner for a couple of years. I felt lonely, bored, and frustrated because I could not go out to meet new people. I began to feel depressed even though I had friends online.
My mental and physical health deteriorated in the following months. I spoke to the doctor on the phone a few times, and she prescribed some antidepressants and a diet and exercise routine. Immediately, I felt a weight lift off my shoulders and a lightness in my heart.
During my healing, I felt supported by a team of long-lost friends and family who showed me my life from a new perspective, a perspective of love and forgiveness. Then I fell asleep. From the next day onwards, I accepted the pandemic as a natural symptom of toxic modern living. As well as this, I felt a deep understanding that we all need to make changes to our lives to save the world. I also completely let go of my anxiety and depression.
